2019 OUSD Teachers of the Year to Throw Out First Pitch at Tonight’s Oakland A’s Game

Oakland, CA — Tonight, July 16, is Teacher Appreciation Night at the Oakland Coliseum as the Oakland A’s host the Seattle Mariners. The A’s are graciously hosting teachers from across OUSD and the Bay Area for tonight’s game, complete with free tickets and parking. Three OUSD teachers will get an even bigger treat, too. Before the game, the 2019 Teachers of the Year will get to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
Precious James from Madison Park Academy (left, center), Tontra Love from Sequoia Elementary School (center in pink), and David Ramirez from Urban Promise Academy have been practicing their pitching technique, and will be ready to “take the mound” in the minutes leading up to the start of the game.

Media is welcome to cover the A’s honoring Oakland and Bay Area educators, and see OUSD’s Teachers of the Year throwing their best fastballs.
