| The LCAP Parent and Student Advisory Committee invites you to its first meeting of the 2019-20 school year, this Wednesday, October 16 at Westlake Middle School from 5:00 to 8:30 pm. Registration begins at 5:00 pm and the meeting begins at 5:30 pm.Starting this Wednesday, we prepare for a new three-year cycle of the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). The committee and community will have the opportunity during this year to advise on revisions to the goals, action areas, and investments that will be included in the 2020-23 LCAP.This is a “must—attend” meeting for all those who seek to impact how OUSD supports improved student outcomes during the next three years. To better fulfill their advisory role, committee members requested presentation and dialogue about the following questions this Wednesday:1) What problems should a revision of our LCAP address?2) What are some initial ideas for revising our goals and action areas?3) What percentage of each department’s budget is included in our LCAP? What criteria are guiding what is included and what is not? 4) What are key dates in the budget development process of which district and school site committees should be aware? What are some improvements to this year’s budget development process? The LCAP PSAC looks forward to a robust dialogue about these and other questions at this Wednesday’s meeting. | El Comité Consejero de Padres y Estudiantes para el LCAP les invita a su primera junta del año escolar 2019-20, este miércoles 16 de octubre en la escuela secundaria Westlake de 5:00 a 8:30 pm. Los participantes se pueden registrar comenzando a las 5:00 pm y la junta comenzará a las 5:30 pm. Comenzando el miércoles, nos preparamos para un nuevo ciclo de tres años del Plan de Control y Responsabilidad Local (LCAP). El comité y la comunidad tendrá la oportunidad durante este año de aconsejar acerca de revisiones a las metas, las áreas de acción y las inversiones que se incluirán en el LCAP 2020-23. Esta una de máxima importancia para aquellos que buscan impactar la manera en que OUSD invierte sus recursos durante los próximos tres años para mejorar los resultados de los estudiantes.Para mejor cumplir con su función de aconsejar, los miembros del comité solicitaron presentación y diálogo acerca de las siguientes preguntas este miércoles:1) ¿A cuáles problemas debe atender cualquier revisión al LCAP actual?2) ¿Cuáles son algunas ideas iniciales para revisar nuestras metas y áreas de acción?3) ¿Qué porcentaje del presupuesto de cada departamento está incluído en nuestro LCAP? ¿Cuales criterios están dirigiendo lo que se incluye y lo que no se incluye?4) ¿Cuáles son fechas claves en el proceso para desarrollar el presupuesto de las cuales los comités escolares y de distrito deben estar concientes? ¿Cuáles son algunas mejoras al proceso para el presupuesto este año?
