WHO: Dozens of African American and Latino Oakland charter public school parents, students and educators
WHAT: Celebratory, fun event that will inspire families who do not traditionally vote to get registered and get engaged in the November elections.
Families in Action for Quality Education is collaborating with 39 Oakland charter schools who serve over 16,000 students to co-host a virtual citywide elections kick off to stress the importance of voting in the Oakland school board election.
After the summit, families will drive through three school locations across the city to register to vote from their cars, to pre-register if they are 16 or 17 years, old or sign their voting power pledge if they are ineligible.
