OUSD COVID Update

COVID UPDATEJanuary 27, 2021
Dear OUSD Community,We write today with some updates about the work we are doing in response to COVID. As always, please visit www.ousd.org/reopening2021 for more information about how we’re working toward safely returning to in-person instruction.
Safety VideoThe video above shows some of the work we have been doing to make sure our schools are safe and aligned to the most up-to-date health guidance both for the people who are already working there, and for the future when we are allowed to open additional spaces. The video is available in six languages at www.ousd.org/reopening2021videos.
Learning HubsOur learning hubs continue to operate and serve a limited number of our students. We launched them focused on specific populations (unhoused students, students in foster care, and a limited number of students receiving special education services). Participating students are accepted through a referral from their school team’s Coordinated Service Team (COST) process. We are currently working on launching more learning hubs across the District.Info Sessions Scheduled Through February
Since the beginning of January, we have held three info sessions for the community, three sessions for staff, several for OUSD central office and school site leaders, and one for students. More than 3000 staff and community members have attended a session so far. Focused mostly on safety issues, we have several more info sessions coming up soon, including Feb. 1, Feb. 2. and Feb. 9.
