Dear OUSD Community,We write today with some updates about the work we are doing in response to COVID. We will also be providing an update about vaccine eligibility for educators and others shortly. Family Medical Info Sessions Scheduled OUSD will be hosting a series of family medical information sessions in partnership with medical doctors on the UCSF Pediatric Advisory Task Force (convened by the UCSF Center for Child and Community Health). Info Sessions Scheduled Through February Focused mostly on safety issues, we have more info sessions coming up soon on Feb. 9 and Feb. 16. Details at www.ousd.org/reopening2021infosessions. More than 3500 staff and community members have attended a session so far.Sports Conditioning Opening Under new health guidance, we opened sports conditioning for high school students on Monday, Feb. 1. So far, over 260 students have expressed interest.Visit www.ousd.org/schoolsports for more details about locations, who is eligible, and how to sign up. COVID Relief Impact Fund Report In partnership with the Oakland Ed Fund, our COVID-19 Relief Fund has raised more than $2.5 million thanks to 2,000+ generous donors. Read more about the impact of the COVID Relief Fund and how these donations have been allocated. Learning HubsOur learning hubs continue to operate and serve a limited number of our students. We launched them focused on specific populations (unhoused students, students in foster care, and a limited number of students receiving special education services). Participating students are accepted through a referral from their school team’s Coordinated Service Team (COST) process.
