| Haga clic aquí para español The Special Education Committee Focuses on School Options and the Work of School Psychologists on MondayThe LCAP Committee Discusses New LCAP Goals and Actions for 2020-23 on WednesdayNext week marks the start of a strong new year for two of OUSD’s advisory committees. On Monday, January 13, the Community Advisory Committee (CAC) for Special Education will hear a presentation about students with dis/abilities and IEPs in the School Options Process. Participants will also find out when they can tour Special Education programs at schools and what they will learn at the tours. Finally, the CAC will host a panel of school psychologists discussing how they support the behavior-related needs of students and sharing ideas for parents to collaborate with staff.The meeting of the CAC for Special Education will be held on Monday, January 13 from 6 to 8 pm in the Cole Campus Auditorium at 1011 Union Street, Oakland, 94607. Parents and guardians can also receive individual support from a Special Education administrator from 5:30 to 6:00 pm. Here is the agenda for Monday’s meeting and a schedule for the tours of Special Education programs at schools, which begin next Monday, January 13. On Wednesday, January 15, members of the LCAP Parent and Student Advisory Committee (LCAP PSAC) and other attendees will discuss a draft proposal for the goals and action areas to be included in the 2020-23 Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). Defining LCAP goals and action areas is part of the process to identify priorities for the 2020-21 budget. The committee will also review responses to their specific questions about the budget presentation from the December 2019 meeting.The meeting of the LCAP Parent and Student Advisory Committee will be held on Wednesday, January 15 from 5 to 8:30 pm in the auditorium of Fruitvale Elementary School at 3200 Boston Avenue, Oakland, 94602.Here is the agenda for Wednesday’s meeting. Los participarán recibirán información de cómo pueden visitar los programas de Educación Especial en las escuelas y de que aprenderán en los recorridos. Finalmente, el CAC dialogará con un panel de psicólogos escolares acerca de cómo ellos apoyan las necesidades de comportamiento de los estudiantes y acerca de ideas para los padres acerca de cómo colaborar con los empleados en ese apoyo.La junta del CAC se llevará cabo el lunes, 13 de enero de 6 a 8 pm en al auditorio del Plantel Cole, 1011 Calle Union, Oakland, 94607.
